Sketch

Sketched and coloured in photoshop using my drawing tablet.
This idea evolved as I played with the sketch. I'm trying to
spend more time experimenting and playing with different
styles.

An imaginary face drawn in photoshop using a drawing tablet. It is amazing how responsive the tablet is, and with some practice it is very similar to drawing on paper - with the added benefit that I can edit what I've drawn immediately, retract my steps if I don't like what I've done, or re-colour it completely...

Portrait sketch detail

Detail of a photoshop sketch done using a drawing tablet. At the moment I'm drawn to a combination of light and heavy linework with areas of blocked-in colour alongside blank space.

Sketch with Pattern

I'd like the faces to be framed by patterns - they will take ages to cut out of lino, but I think it will be worth it.

Test Sketch

Sketching Faces

I'm busy learning how to use my drawing tablet in Photoshop. This sketch is based on Head of a Negro (1778); an oil painting by John Singleton Copley.
