Super Undies

This was for a weekly sketch group theme on AI for "costume". I think
all good superheroes need good super undies

Pattern: Membrane

I've been practicing creating patterns lately. This was done entirely in Fireworks using vector shapes.

Leap

My first real attempt at adding shade in photoshop.

Japanese (detail)

I cropped the large image because the detail was lost when I re-sized it for the web.
I still don't have a title for it..

Untitled - Japanese Influence

This is inspired by some Hiroshige prints I've got.
I love Japanese woodblock prints. This, much to my shame, is done with pen and ink, then coloured in Photoshop...

IF: Alphabets

This is for Illustration Friday's
"Alphabets" theme.

Solid 1

Thought I'd get a little existential...this one's all about form and space,
and the beauty of simple, solid lines and curves. The sky is drawn from
a picture I took with some work in photoshop. The rest was put together
in Fireworks.

IF: Missing

"missing".
I'm not sure of the full story here, but I'm
guessing blondie got caught "dacks down"
somewhere!

Lost

Pen and ink drawing / vector
I did this for Illustration Friday's "moon" theme.

The Red Wheelbarrow

Wax Pastels on paper

I did this for Illustration Friday's "poem" theme. I always liked The Red Wheelbarrow by William Carlos Williams (1923). We studied it at school and it was the only one I could ever remember.

Hair Towel

Pen and ink (coloured in photoshop)

Perhaps its because I'm yet to learn how to blend colour in photoshop, but I really like the flat colour areas I get with this technique. Its almost a print-like effect. (and yes, that is a towel on her head)

Coffee Anatomy

Pen and ink
Another coffee inspired drawing. This was done before I began colouring in photoshop.

Coffee Spill

Pen and ink sketch coloured in photoshop
This was one of my first attempts at using photoshop to colour a sketch. In the end all I did was add the white of the cup and the nails.

Tea Poster

Tea Poster
Acrylic paint on paper

I was trying to create something that had a print-like quality about it. I think this comes close.
